A mere travel letter is not permission to enter Uganda therefore, the applicants outside Uganda (visa prone countries) has to apply for a visa to enable them enter Uganda. Your Visa application is needed to be submitted which will be studied by an Immigration Officer. Please note that during the approval process of visa few additional information may be required. The new required information can be submitted electronically through email or online websites.

The decision taken on the Visa application will be sent electronically through the email provided by you. If approved, an approval letter will be sent to you as an attachment to the email provided. Visa required by all except the following countries: 

Nationals of Angola, Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, The Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Rwanda, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
National Citizens of these countries are issued gratis Visa (free of charge) upon their arrival. You do not need to make any application to Uganda High Commission.
E-visas and e-permits are nowadays centrally approved and can be personalized at Point of Entry or Missions Abroad that have been equipped with the e-immigration system. These e-visa are provided by the countries Uganda Embassy itself. Its valid until you receive the visa copy.
