Arusha National Park (ANAPA) is Tanzania’s vast known area which covers Mount Meru, a prominent volcano with an elevation of 4566 m. This is Small Park but varied with enormouscombination of landscapes and wildlife. It has certain distinctive featuresin it like the white & black Colobus Monkey, Mount Meru, Swamps, Lakes, Waterfalls and Craters! In the western side, the Meru Crater becomes channels for the Jekukumia River. Ngurdoto Crater in the south-east is grassland. The shallow alkaline Momella Lakes in the north-east have variety of algal colors which is known for the wading birds there.
Mount Meru is the second highest peak in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha National Park lies on a 300-kilometre axis of Africa’s most famous national parks, running from Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater at the west to Kilimanjaro National Park on the east.

This Park is just few kilometer’s north east of Arusha city, and the main gate is 25 km east of the city. Its distance is 58 km from Moshi and 35 km from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA).

Arusha National Park is rich in variety of wildlife. Despite of being small in size of the park, but it includes common animals like giraffe, Cape buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white colobus monkey, the blue monkey, flamingo, elephant, bushbuck and many other African animals. Leopard populations are present, but rarely seen. Birdlife in the forest is in high-volume, with many forest species more easily seen here than elsewhere on the tourist route.
