An African Safari through the scenic views of Kenyan Highlands and The Great Rift Valley cutting right across the Equator. The safari offers a perfect chance for game drives and bird watching. Early morning pick up from Nairobi Airport/Hotel. After a briefing by our representative, your safari starts by taking you through vast coffee, tea, and pineapple plantations in the central region of the country. You pass through small but vibrant towns and villages to the foot of Mount Kenya – 2nd highest mountain in Africa. Arrive at Samburu National Park in time for check-in and lunch. After lunch embarks on afternoon game viewing drives in Samburu National Reserve till sun drop enjoying the dramatic scenery of scattered woodlands, dry grasslands riverside forest along the Ewaso Ng’iro River. You have a chance to spot Samburu’s big 5 species – Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, and Somali Ostrich which are only found north of the equator. The park also has a good number of lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes among lots of other games.
Start the day with early morning game viewing when you return to the lodge for breakfast. Rest at leisure enjoying the lodge facilities followed by lunch. After lunch proceeds for afternoon game viewing drives. If you opt you can have a visit to Samburu Manyatta (village). The Samburu community shares lots of similarities with the Masai community yet so many differences in culture. At sun drop return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, check out and depart Samburu National Reserve for Lake Nakuru National Park. You will have a brief stop at the viewpoint for a photo session of the magnificent view of the Great Rift. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for check-in and lunch. Lake Nakuru is well known for a large population of lesser and greater flamingos and a good concentration of wild game. The park is rich in birdlife with over 400 bird species in an area of 188 square kilometers. After lunch, you start your afternoon game drive within the park and if lucky you will be able to spot 4 of the big 5 species found here – Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino. At sun drop return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you depart Lake Nakuru for Masai Man en-route en-route game drive. Arrive at Masai Mara in time for check-in and lunch. After lunch proceeds for an afternoon game drive in the natural world of savannah grassland of the great Masai Mara. The connection to the wild during game drives is purely authentic and can get quite emotive with each day offering a different experience. After the game drive returns to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive in the vast plains of Masai Mara with a picnic lunch. Masai Mara is an all-year destination characterized by rolling plains of grassland savannah with a high concentration of game in this part of Africa. You will have a chance to spot all the Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards, Hyenas, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Baboons, and a wide variety of wild birds. At times in the Mara, you can spot 4 of the big five members in a record hours time. The reserve is well known for the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, thousands of zebras, and other antelopes, which occurs between July – and October. A visit to a Masai village at minimal extra cost is encouraged; it gives a direct connection to the traditional way of living by the Masai community. In the evening you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
You may opt for a balloon safari with champagne bush breakfast at an extra cost and thereafter have a full day game drive.
You will have an early morning game drive and return to mid-morning for breakfast and check out. You depart for Nairobi with some stops en routine to arrive in Nairobi afternoon. Lunch will be on your own before being transferred to the hotel/airport for check-in for your international flight back home with lots of safari memories.
